Chapmans Limited was incorporated in 1922 and was originally a manufacturing company and importer of canvas goods. It has been a public listed company since 1950 and has the experience and stability of having operated in Australia for over 85 years.
Chapmans gradually converted into a property, share and general investment company and has been operating as an investment company for more than 30 years. The Company is included in the Diversified Financial Resources Sector under the S&P/ASX classification.
Based on its background and diverse past operations, Chapmans has the ability to invest in a wide range of activities, be they in general and property investments, mineral resources and mining projects or venture capital, to name a few possibilities.
Hallmark Minerals N L - which is a partly-owned subsidiary of Chapmans Limited - has been re-constructed with a view to re-activating mineral exploration and development. As an initial step, Hallmark Minerals has recently acquired a direct interest in a coal mining project in Kalimantan, Indonesia.
Chapmans continues to seek investments and projects in the above sectors and any other suitable investments which are prospective to produce benefits for the Company and its shareholders.
