Chapmans Limited was incorporated in 1922 and was originally a manufacturing company and an importer of canvas goods. It has been a public listed company since 1950 and has the stability of having operated in Australia for over 90 years. Chapmans gradually converted into a property, share and general investment company and has been operating as an investment company for more than 30 years. The Company is included in the Diversified Financial Resources Sector under the S&P/ASX classification.

Based on its background and diverse past operations, Chapmans has the ability to invest in a wide range of activities, be they in general and property investments, mineral resources and mining projects or venture capital, to name a few possibilities.

The Company's partly-owned subsidiary, Hallmark Minerals N L, was re-constructed with a view to once again becoming involved in mineral exploration and development. Hallmark Minerals continues to seek participation in further mineral projects in Australia and overseas. After acquisition of a suitable project, a proposed in-specie distribution of shares would be implemented and a separate listing would be sought.

Chapmans also acquired, through its subsidiary company Gladstone Development Pty Ltd, a fifteen percent (15%) interest in a private company which owns land in Gladstone, Queensland, that is suitable for subdivision into about 100 residential lots.

Chapmans continues to seek investments and projects in the above sectors and any other suitable investments which are prospective to produce benefits for the Company and its shareholders.

Chapmans continues to examine new investment submissions. When suitable investments or projects become available, the group's corporate structure enables the Company to raise fresh share capital for the acquisition of assets, and for general purposes.
